Here’s a fun card you can make with the Vertical Greetings stamp set by Stampin’ Up! This set includes pretty topiaries, shrubs, and like the set is called, Vertical Greetings.
I used the “just because” greeting for today’s card, well, just because. Sometimes you need a card to write for a friend or for no occasion at all and this greeting is perfect for that.
The colors I used were inspired by Global Design Project #GDP061; a Color Challenge.
This week’s challenge includes a lovely combination of modern colors with Emerald Envy (my current fav), Sweet Sugarpulm and Basic Black.
The card started by stamping a strip of Whisper White cardstock with one of the topiaries in the stamp set.
Stampin’ Write Markers make it simple to get multi-color impressions from any stamp. All you have to do is color the different segments. For larger stamps, the ink may dry a bit, but you can revive it before stamping just by huffing on the image with your breath; just like polishing a ring.
For added texture and color, I inked up my Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with Emerald Envy ink. You can tap the ink pad directly to the embossing folder before running it through the Big Shot.
I recommend experimenting with this. I inked the side between the leaves, but you may ink up the leaves instead. This works with any Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
Sweet Sugarplum 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon and Basic Black Baker’s Twine create simple embellishments to finish the look.
I hope you enjoyed the card today. If you’d like to try your hand at this week’s Color Challenge, visit Global Design Project.
