Rose Garden Thinlits & Embossing Paste

Global Design Project CASE the Designer Challenge

You Look Gorgeous

Hi everyone! I’m so glad to share today’s card with you. Today at Global Design Project, we are playing along with another CASE the Designer challenge; and this week we are CASEing me! When you Copy And Share Everything (CASE), you may choose to copy the card exactly, maybe follow the layout or colors with different supplies, or use the same supplies in a different way.

The card we’re CASEing was posted on my blog about a year ago. I cut the large rose from the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies and filled the shape with pink and green cardstock. If you’d like to see that post, you can find it here. Today, I used the same die, but but in a totally different way.

I cut the same large rose from the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies and used it as a stencil for embossing paste. You may remember the first card I made using embossing paste, a new product coming soon in the 2017–2018 Annual Catalog. On that card, I said I used the embossing paste in the most simple way you can. Today I’m sharing the next technique you can try with the embossing paste.

Rose Garden Thinlits and Embossing Paste

Like before, I tinted the embossing paste using Blushing Bride ink refill, but this time I spread it over the die-cut of the rose. I like the messy edge I left, but if you’re careful, you can make an even spread that covers the entire card too. I allowed the paste to dry for about 30 minutes before I adhered it to the card base.

I cut a sprig of leaves from Gold Foil Sheets to mimic the CASE card and embossed a sentiment from the new Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set (available June 1, 2017). The sentiment was cut using the Classic Label Punch. A little Multipurpose Glue held the spring to the card and Stampin’ Dimensionals gives the sentiment a little lift.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post. Be sure to head over to Global Design Challenge to see the fabulous cards our other designers came up with. They are beautiful. While you’re there I hope you’ll play along with this week’s challenge. I can’t wait to see what you come with.
