When I think of crafting and family, no other item brings the two together like a handmade quilt. That’s why I’m sharing the Christmas Quilt Bundle by Stampin’ Stamp for this week’s Global Design Project. The challenge is to create a project using the theme: Family Time.
Now it’s easy to guess that I am not a quilter and I do envy anyone who can sew, but with the Christmas Quilt Bundle, anyone can make beautiful designs out of paper. My card starts with a A2 Whisper White card base. I cut the large star-shaped Framelit in the upper center of the card front.
Using the same die, I cut Powder Pink and Berry Burst cardstock, but this time I saved the positive pieces. With the card front closed, I carefully glued alternating pink shapes to the inside of the card. I cut the flower-shaped die from Tranquil Tide cardstock and glued that to the center of the star. The sentiment from the Christmas Quilt stamp set was stamped under the frame in Tranquil Tide Classic Stampin’ Ink.
Next I embossed a 4-1/4″ x 3/4″ strip of Whisper White cardstock with the Quilt Top Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder. Whisper White Baker’s Twine was wrapped several times above the embossed strip. To keep the twine in place, I spread a little Multipurpose Glue to each edge before applying.
The adorable sewing needle is included in the Quilt Builder Framelits set. I cut it out of Silver Foil Sheets, glued the narrow portion down under the sentiment, and finally pulled some of the baker’s twine through the eye of the needle. A couple of strategically placed dots of glue hold the “loose” twine in place.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed the card today. Play along at Global Design Project. We love sharing our ideas and seeing the projects you share.
